RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi’s statement:
Bharat is an agriculture based nation and our cows are the backbone of our agriculture from time immemorial. As the world continues to suffer from excessive and indiscriminate use of chemical fertilisers, the value of cow based organic farming gains increasing significance. Hence, Hindus and people from other communities give the highest regard and respect for nurturing and protection of our cows. Great leaders like Gandhiji, Vinobhaji and Malaviyaji have considered this sacred work as important part of their lives.
In the name of cow protection, some anti-social elements in certain locations, have taken law into their hands and tried to create social disharmony by indulging in violence. Such nefarious activities are detrimental to the genuine cause of cow protection and nurture. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh appeals to all citizens to recognize such opportunistic elements and their true faces and not associate them with those involved in the genuine and sincere work of cow protection and nurture. We also appeal to all State governments to take stern legal action against such antisocial elements and ensure that the genuine work of those involved in cow protection and gau seva is not disturbed.
