Ram Madhav delivered a stimulating, scintillating, and a stellar memorial lecture on Atal Bihari Vajpayee organised by Thinkers forum at BMS Engineering College on his birth anniversary.
He began the lecture by throwing light on how the memorial lectures must highlight the key aspects of a person’s political thought and political history.
He spoke about the emotional political legacy of Atalji and his benevolent journey of life outside of politics, with atmost passion. Vajpayee was a Born leader, gifted with the adroit skills of statescraft.
Ram Madhav spoke about how Atalji was the most respected statesman and an Ajata-shatru (man with no enemies), he quoted the Shanti parva of Mahabharata to explain the stealth moral dexterity of Vajpayee.
He went on to say how Atalji had set the daunting benchmark for the functioning of the parliament, contrasting with today’s politicians who consider power as an entitlement.
He spoke about Atalji’s Stunning oratery and how he was disarming the adverseries by the mere play of words and impeccable language. He mentioned how the 1996 historic parliamentary speech, set a benchmark in the history of Modern Indian politics.

Rooting out the dynamic politics, which was a shameful norm earlier. He mentioned how vajpayee’s role as an opposition leader, is absolutely commendable because, the parliamentary decorum, standards and benchmarks was set by him, as an inspirational model.
He went on to explain the role of Vajpayee during the septers of wars and challenges that India had faced, and explained his firm stand of state support and solidarity in the issues pertaining to national security of Bharat.
He further explained Atalji’s obituary speech on Nehru in the parliament, which marked the qualities of a true political magnanimity and exuberant maturity, which is totally absent in today’s opposition filled with comedians and mimicry artists who act beneath the standards of parliamentary dignity. The finest master strategist of coalition politics in India was undoubtedly Atalji.
Ultimately, Atalji’s bolstering courage in the issues of national security, inclusivity and large heartedness in politics, grace and elegance in the incredible journey of his life, were the key takeaways from the lecture.
