Hyderabad: Former RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak Sri Parvat Rao (89) passed away on December 11th, 2024 at 11:30 am at his home in Jubilee Hills.
About
Sri Parvata Rao, born in the year 1935 was an exceptional and brilliant student since childhood. He did his schooling and Intermediate in Vijayawada, his BSC degree from Madras Loyola college, and completed his Masters in physics, politics and economics from Oxford University in 1954. After returning to India, he also completed his Law degree from Madras and started assisting Sri Duvvuri Narasaraju in law practice in Hyderabad. He started his independent law practice from the year 1961.
He was an intellectual of the highest order, his reading was across diverse subjects like medicine and engineering.
In his legal practice, he specialized in corporate law. Though late CM Sri NT Ramarao’s AP govt shortlisted and recommended Sri Parvatha Rao as a judge, the then Union law minister Sri Shivashankar insisted that Sri Parvatha Rao should submit a letter disassociating himself from RSS in which he was holding a responsibility. Sri Parvatha Rao rejected the offer saying RSS is not a banned organisation. Later he became a judge during Sri Vajpayee led NDA govt. After his superannuation as High Court judge, he was made the Chairman of the State Consumer Forum, he resigned from his position after 2 years as AP state govt didn’t implement his recommendations for providing facilities at the district level.
Later on he dedicated his life towards social service activities. Initially he was Kshetra Sanghchalak and later on became president of Akhila Bharat Nyayavada Parishad. He adhered to the highest moral values throughout his life and inspired many others. One example will suffice to illustrate his commitment to moral values. On a trip as a judge to his home town, when he was offered breakfast, he insisted and paid up the amount.
Out of the 30 acres of land he inherited, he donated 27 acres to various charities like Gowthami seva samithi, Gow seva samithi and so on..
45 years back, he donated his land In his native village Unguturu and donated 10 Lakhs to BVK to run a school, Dr.Sunkavalli Vijnana Bharati.
Ten years ago he raised a crore of rupees to construct a new school building. In the last 280 Sq.yards of land that he had beside the highway near his village , he constructed a center for organic gau products.
He was married to Smt Laxmikantham with whom he had three daughters. Not only are all the daughters highly educated, Sri Parvatha Rao encouraged his wife in pursuing higher education, she had completed her Post graduation and Law degree too. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and five grand children.
His life is an inspiration to future generations for his courage, integrity and a commitment to the national cause.
