HYDERABAD June 7-2012: ALL INDIA CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING OF SABARIMALA AYYAPPA SEVA SAMAJAM URGED THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT TO DECLARE Kerala’s SABARIMALA AS A NATIONAL PILGRIME CENTRE, SO THAT PROVISION OF BASIC AMENITIES TO THE PILGRIMS WILL BE COME STATUTORYAND CONSTITUTIONAL OBLIGATION OF THE GOVERMENTS BOTH CENTRAL & STATE.
SABARIMALA CONTRIBUTES MUCH A LOT TO STRENGTHEN THE NATIONAL INTEGRATION AND NATIONAL PRESTIGE, SINCE 5 CRORES OF DEVOTEES IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR RELIGION,CASTE AND CREEDS, STATE AND STATUS ASSEMBLE AT SABARIMALA WITH IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME. WITH OUT GETTING ANY BASIC AMENITIES SUCH AS FOOD,DRINKING WATER,MEDICAL AID,ACCOMMODATION AND TOILET FECILITIES THE PILGRIME ARE SUFFERING FOR THE LAST SOMANY YEARS. CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ON WAR FOOTING FOR THE REDRESSAL OF LONG PENDING GRIEVANCES OF CRORES OF DEVOTEES TREKKING TO SABARIMALA.
THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT IGNORES THE INTRESTS AND DEMANDS OF THE DEVOTEES, WHO ARE USING THE RAILWAYS FOR THEIR JOURNEY FOR SABARIMALA FROM ANDHRAPRADESH,KARNATAKA & TAMILNADU. VERY FEW TRAINS ARE RUNNING DURING THE SEASON, SO THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL SAFELY TO SABARIMALA. THE CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMIITTEE OF SABARIMALA AYYAPPA SEVA SAMAJAM DEMANDED TO SANCTION 50 MORE ADDITIONAL SPECIAL TRAINS FROM MAIN RAILWAY STATIONS OF SOUTHERN STATES. THE COMMITTEE POINTED OUT THAT THE RAILWAYS HAVE RECEIVED A REVENUE OF Rs. 300 CRORES DURING THE LAST SEASON FROM VARIOUS RAILWAY STATIONS OF SOUTHERN STATES THROUGH TICKET COLLECTIONS. BUT, THE RAILWAY DID NOT SPENT AT LEAST ONE PERCENT OF TOTAL REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE PILGRIMS FOR PROVIDING RAILWAY FECILITEES.FOR DOUBLING THE RAILWAY LINE FROM ERNAKULAM TO CHENGANNUR IN KERALA WILL COST ONLY Rs.100 CRORES. EVERY YEAR THE RAILWAYS IS GETTING REVENUE3 TIMES MORE THAN THE TOATAL EXPENDITURE FOR DOUBLING THE ABOVE LINES, AT THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE STONGLY CONDEMNED THE INDIFFERENT AND ANTI DEVOTEE STAND IN NOT PROVIDING SUFFICIENT RAIL FECILITIES TO SABARIMALA PILGRIMES AND URGED TO COMPLETE THE RAILWAY DOUBLING WORKS BEFORE THE 15/11/2012 POSSITIVELY.
THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE URGED THE PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE OF PARLIAMENT TO VISIT SABARIMALA IMMEDIATELY TO TAKE STOCK OF THE SITUATION WHICH VIOLATES THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND INTERESTS OF THE CRORES OF DEVOTEES.
THE COMMITTEE DEMANDED TO FORM GREATER DEVOLOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR SABARIMALA INCLUDING ALL IMPORTANT DEVOTEES REPRESENTING FROM AP, KARNATAKA,TAMILNADU&KERALA.
THE CEC URGED THE KERALA STATE GOVERNMENT TO APPROACH TAMILNADU,KARNATAKA AND ANDHRAPRADESH GOVERMENTS TO DEPUTE THEIR POLICE TO SABARIMALA FOR MANAGING THE CROWD AND SOLVE THE LANGUAGE PROBLEM WITH THE PILGRIMES AND POLICE.
