Bengaluru, August 23, 2025 – The Awakened Bengal, a collective of nationalist Bengalis based in Bengaluru, hosted the launch of a thought-provoking new book, The Joy Bangla Deception, authored by Prof. Kausik Gangopadhyay, faculty at IIM Kozhikode, and co-author Devavrata. The book offers a bold and timely analysis of Bangladesh, tracing its Islamist ideological roots and its long-term ambition of a “Greater Bangladesh” by altering demographics and extending influence into Eastern and Northeastern India.

In his address, Prof. Gangopadhyay observed that the linguistic and cultural drift of Bangladesh away from its Bengali identity dates back to the creation of Pakistan, underscoring the geopolitical implications of this shift.

The keynote speaker, Sandeep Balakrishna, acclaimed author and social commentator, emphasized that Bangladesh poses a pressing national security challenge for India, presenting a detailed historical context to the issue.

The Joy Bangla Deception examines how unchecked demographic changes in West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura are reshaping political dynamics and contributing to a larger security crisis.

The event was attended by distinguished guests including Shri Gopinath Reddy, senior thinker and social activist, and was presided over by Shri M. N. Krishnamurthy, IPS (Retd.), former DGP of Kerala. Both highlighted the crucial role of nationalist citizens in recognizing and addressing the challenge of illegal infiltration, describing it as a growing threat to India’s internal stability.

The program concluded with a strong call for awareness and action on issues of infiltration and demographic shifts, with the book positioned as a critical resource for policymakers, security experts, and the public alike.
