A lecture by Sarasanghchalak of Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat was organized by Late Adv Arvind Joshi’s family and friends at Scientific Society Hall on Friday 4th January. At the same event a book in Marathi titled “Manachya Khol Talatun” authored by psychiatrist Dr. Pallavi Joshi-Gaikwad (daughter of Arvind Joshi) was also released with the hands of Dr. Bhagwat. Swamini Mangalananda of Chinmay Mission was in the chair. Renowned pediatrician and writer Dr. Shrikant Chorghade was the guest of honour.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda and stories from mythology, Dr. Bhagwat spoke extensively on loss of humanity. He appealed people to support and practice good practices in society. “Sensitivity among people is lost, which is evident from what is happening today in our country, which has a rich culture and tradition. This sensitivity needs to be groomed and people should awaken themselves to change the situation” said Dr. Bhagwat.
Ups and downs are the integral part of any one’s life. The situation changes with the passage of time. However, the human being facing it remains constant. It is his approach that changes the situation towards good or bad. For bringing about a positive change the vision of the person should be positive and aimed at betterment of the society at large. This sensitivity of a doctor can be seen in this book, he added.
“Even in this situation, everyone has not lost sensitivity towards others. However, most of them have not come openly to express it” he said and added that one should introspect and test the conscience. This will help in controlling the persons who bring shame to entire nation. This can be done by proper coordination of heart (feeling) and brain (thinking). The book will help in this thinking process.
Swamini Mangalananda, while blessing the crowd also stressed the need for widening vision to make entire world a global family. Dr. Chorghade reviewed the book and stated that along with treating the patient, the doctor has tried to understand his feelings. Humanitarian touch with the treatment has motivated her to express the feelings in a very lucid manner. Good literature comes only through feelings with sensitivity.
