Kalladka, Mangaluru: “The National Education Policy envisions the development of Panchakosha (five sheaths) in a person. A human is not just the body; there is also the intellect and the soul. Therefore, when all these aspects are developed, it is referred to as holistic development. This is now incorporated into the education system of India. However, efforts in this direction have been underway at Sri Ram Vidyakendra from many years” said RSS Sarasanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat
He inaugurated Annual Kalladka Kreedotsava organised by Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, Mangaluru, Karnataka and addressed the gathering.
He continued “You are all fortunate for receiving proper education. Education is not for livelihood and it is not solely necessary for livelihood. Education should be empowering. A truly educated person not only fills their own stomach but also takes care of and provides for their family. Such education is being imparted here, not just theoretical knowledge but practical knowledge as well.”
Sarasanghachalak opined that “In all aspects, education have been taught here. No other educational institution teaches all of this. Your institution is one that provides education for the development of the Panchakosha. Along with education, wisdom is essential. Here, that is being applied. One needs the intelligence to use knowledge properly. For this, Samskara is necessary. An educated person is very clever, but merely reading books does not make someone a true scholar. A true scholar is one who can make the whole world more harmonious. Our tradition teaches this through the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which means the world is one family.”
He also said that “We must regard everyone as part of our own. We must also learn to protect ourselves from those who cause harm. Respect is given to those who possess power. We must be those who forgive everyone. Along with this, we must understand that forgiveness is the ornament of the brave. We must be strong, but the use of that strength should be to protect the weak. We must be educated. The purpose of education should be to share knowledge with others. We must earn wealth, but use it for charity. We should save only what we need and return to society and nature what we have received. Those who do this are called educated. We must become such educated people. This kind of education is being provided here.”
Dr. Mohan Bhagwat concluded by saying “Our teachers are striving to shape thoughtful and virtuous individuals. When a guru teaches, sharing that knowledge with others by their students is considered as the Gurudakshina. We have studied in this institution. We should become good, virtuous and skilled people. May your knowledge excel, just as the excellence of the performance you gave today. You must make that effort. The use of your knowledge should not be for selfish purposes. You should acquire education to do good for the world, to make India prosperous, to be powerful in protecting the country, society, religion, and culture, and to protect the weak. If you decide to gain education with such a goal in mind, you will immortalize the reputation of your institution.”
In this occasion Sri Rama Vidya Kendra President Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, RSS Sahasarakaryavah CR Mukunda, Kshetreeya Sanghachalak Dr P Vaman Shenoy were present.
