Kochi: Senior RSS Prachaarak, former Managing Director of Janmabhoomi newspaper and former state organizational secretary of the “Mathsya Pravarthaka Sangham”, Anikad Kodimattath K. Purushotham passed away. He was 74 years old. He died at 2 am today (24th February 2024) while undergoing treatment at Ernakulam Sudhindra Hospital.
The body will be placed for paying homage at Madhava Niwas – Elamakara, Ernakulam, the RSS state office, today (24th February 2024) from 9 am, which was his centre of activities for a long time.
The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. at Pachalam Public Crematorium.
He joined RSS in 1959 and became a pracharak in 1967 at seventeen. He served as RSS pracharak for five and a half decades. He served as taluk Pracharak in Kodungallur, Thalassery, Paravur, Iringalakuda taluks then served as Jilla Pracharak in Iringalakuda and Kannur Jillas and then became Kannur Vibhag pracharak in 1984. He then served as Vibhag Pracharak in Palakkad, Ernakulam, Sabarigiri and Kozhikode Vibhags.
In 1997, He became the R.S.S State kaaryaalaya pramukh. In 2003, he became the managing director of Janmabhoomi News Paper. And later for 15 years from 2007, he held the position of State Organizational Secretary of the “Mathsya Pravarthaka Sangham”.
He was born on January 1, 1950, at Kodimattath, Anikad, to Vengalur Keshavan Nair and Parvathiamma, a member of the Anikad Kallur family. His Primary education was in NSS High School, Anikad. Years ago, His family moved to Kannur Payyannur, Cherupuzha, and later to Kasarkodu Ramdas Nagar. Omana KK, Gopakumar KK, Vinayakumar KK, Vinodkumar KK (Senior Superintendent KSEB Kasaragod) Geethakumari KK, Ushakumari, KK are siblings.
