Bengaluru September 15, 2016: An Engineer by education; but dedicated his entire life for a social cause, KS Sudarshanji, the former RSS Sarasanghachalak of RSS is remembered today across the world by RSS Swayamsevaks, well wishers, thinkers of different spectrum on his 4th death anniversary (Punyatithi) coinciding the National Engineers Day.
Born on June 18th 1931, Kuppalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan, did his Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications (honours) from Jabalpur Engineering College (formerly named as Government Engineering college) in Jabalpur.
He was only 9 years old when he first attended an RSS Shakha. He became RSS Pracharak in 1954. His first posting as a pracharak was in Raigarh district of Madhya Pradesh (Now part of Chhattisgarh). In 1964, he was made the Prant Pracharak of Madhya Bharat at a fairly young age. In 1969, Akhil Bharatiya Sharirik Pramukh. Later he became Akhil Bharatiya Bouddhik Pramukh. In 1990, he was appointed Sah-sarakaryavah joint general secretary of the organisation. In March 2000, he became 5th RSS Sarasanghachalak of RSS, served till March 2009.
In January 2009, acknowledging his lifelong selfless social service and his vast contribution in nation building; Shobhit University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, conferred upon him Honorary Doctor of Arts (Honoris Causa).
KS Sudarshan was considered to be one of greatest known Hindutva ideologue in post-independent India , a great orator, strong advocate of Swadeshi Concept. KS Sudarshanji passed away on September 15, 2012 at Raipur.
