Bangalore September 9: On her maiden Public Speech at her native Wilson Garden of Bangalore as PRAMUKH SANCHALIKA* of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Vandaneeya Shanthakka called upon the woman cadres to spread patriotism among the youth and to indulge indifferent activities to build a strong nation.
Shanthakka was addressing a gathering of Rashtra Sevika Samiti at Uchulukumme Brahmana Samaj Auditorium at Wilson Garden, Bangalore after concluding the 2 day State level meeting of office bearers (Pranth Baitak).
“Society is expecting more from us. There are many persisting and newer challenges across social spectrum. We are witnessing threat on several socio-religious issues. To overcome everything we need an united and committed effort, realizing the individual responsibilities. The ultimate need of the hour is remembering the Rashtradharma” said Shanthakka.
Quoting the recent Pune incident, Shanthakka said, “In spite of several examples of cultural deterioration in the nation, we can see there are several young men and women coming up to accept the social works, dedicating more time for society apart from their profession. Such positive rays of hope makes us to feel happy and more committed”. Shanthakka gave an example of a woman, who is dedicating most of her time for the betterment of the society, even after completing Post Graduation and Ph.D in Uttara Pradesh.
Seetha Annadanam, Pramukh Karyavahika (General Secreatry) of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Smt Sudha Murthy, Pranth Sanchalika, Smt Udaya Bhat, Bangalore Mahanagar Karyavahika were present at the dais.
Shanthakka hails from Wilson Garden of Bangalore. After resigning as a teacher, she became a Full time activist of Rashtra Sevika Samiti. She was unanimously selected as Chief of Rashtra Sevika Samiti on August 20th in an All India Meet at Nagpur of Maharashtra.
