Bengaluru October 04, 2016: Senior RSS Swayamsevak Sri Kru Gopinath (82years) passed away in Bengaluru on Tuesday. He was suffering from age old illness related to cardiac function.
He was younger brother of veteran RSS Pracharak Kru Suryanarayan Rao and senior RSS functionary Kru Narahari.
Gopinath along with his brothers was closely associated with RSS since 1948. He was part of many RSS Camps, where Gopinath used to volunteer as the Kitchen In-Charge.
He served as State treasurer of Jan Sangh Karnataka.
During emergency, he was one of closest associate of LK Advani. Gopinath was in charge of message communication to Advani who was then in the Bengaluru Central Jail with the central team of leaders. LK Advani came to prison in Gopinath’s car during emergency.
Gopinath had close association with MS Golwalkar and Atal Bihari Vajapeyee.
Gopinath known for his contributions to construction of buildings of Janaseva Vidyakendra of Channenahalli, an RSS School at outskirts of Bengaluru.
Born in 1934 to Krishnappa and Sundaramma, Gopinath was the 5th son. Elder son Kru Suryanarayan Rao 95 is senior RSS Pracharak. Another brother Kru Narahari , President of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, an RSS forum among High School teachers. Elder sister Rukminiakka is a known veteran functionary of Rashtra Sevika Samiti.An elder brother Anant and Younger brother Shivu were passed away much earlier.
RSS senior functionaries expressed deep condolence on demise of Gopinath. RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj, RSS Sahsarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh Mangesh Bhende, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bouddhik Pramukh Mukunda CR, others expressed their condolences on demise of Gopinath.
