Agalpady, Kasaragod-Kerala: “Rising above caste based discrimination, we need to build a society with stability, integirty. Social Harmony can be achieved by unity keeping the diversity unaffected” said veteran social worker, thinker Kajampady Subrahmanaya Bhat.
He was delivering the valedictory address at the Samarasya Goshti -The Social Harmony meet held at Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Agalpady of Kasaragod on February 11, 2012.
‘Society so far has acknowledged a person for his contribution for mankind and not for his caste. Person’s contribution matters, never his caste or colour. Vyasa who wrote Mahabharat and formed 4 Veda’s was not a Brahmin, he belongs a fishermen’s family. Valmiki was a hunter, Rama, Krishna, were never Brahmins, we remember them by their contribution, not by from where they came from” said Kajampady Bhat.
Earlier Samarasya Goshti was inaugurated by Vedamoorthi Brahmashree Delampady Balakrishna Tantri. Sri Vadiraj, Samarasya Vedike State convener for Karnataka, stressed the need of Social Harmony. Rajesh Padmar gave key-note address.
Sri Vasanth Pai Badiadka, Sri Meenaru Padmanabha Shetty, Sri Gopal Chettiyar, Sri Dinesh Kasaragod, Sri Uppangala Vasudeva Bhat, Sri Ramachandra Bhat Uppangala were present.
