Bengaluru August 20, 2016: Citizens for Democracy, an youth forum for upholding the spirit of democratic values, organised a Candle Light Demonstration in front of TownHall Bengaluru on Saturday evening, demanding handing over the case of #AmnestySeditionRow to NIA and immediate arrest of culprtits who shouted anti-national slogans.
Major demands by Citizens for Democracy at the protest:
- The #AmnestySeditionRow case should be handed over to National Investigative Agency.
- Immediate arrest of culprits who shouted anti-national slogans at the Theosophical College in an programme organised by NGO Amnesty International in Bengaluru.
- Citizens for democracy strongly condemned anti-national slogans and voices raised against Indian Army. Citizens for democracy expressed its support and solidarity for the Indian Army.
- Citizens for democracy also condemned the interference of political leaders like Digvijay Sing, Dinesh Gundurao which will influence the course of the case inquiry.
President of Kashmiri Association RK Mattoo, Kashmiri Pandit and Social activist Dileep Kachroo, Grahak Panchayat activist Somashekhar, ABVP General Secretary Vinay Bidire, Lawayer Kshama Naragund, youth writer Rakesh Shetty addressed the gathering.
RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj, Ex-Army Men, young professionals, techies, writers and young thinkers participated in the candle light protest which expressed its support to Indian Army and condemned the anti-national voices.
