Rashtrotthana Parishat in partnership with Unisys India sets up an ICU Ward in Maharaja Agrasen Hospital

Bengaluru, 11 October 2021: Rashtrotthana Parishat, an NGO, supported by Unisys India, has handed over ICU ward to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital as a part of its commitment to combating COVID19. As preparedness to tackle the pandemic and with the intent to augment the city’s critical care infrastructure, Rashtrotthana Parishat has partnered with several Corporate Companies including Unisys India.  

Srikanth Raghavan, Senior Director and Chairman, CSR Committee, Unisys India, Sumita Datta, Delivery Manager and CSR lead, Unisys India, A R Dwarakanath, Vice President, Rashtrotthana Parishat and N. Dinesh Hegde, General Secretary of Rashtrotthana Parishat handed Inaugu+rated the ward in the presence of Satish Jain Ex-President and Rajkumar Kandoi, President, Agarwal Seva Samithi.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice President Rashtrotthana Parishat, A R Dwarakanath said “we are setting up ICU beds in Maharaja Agrasen Hospital as a part of our commitment to enhancing the medical infrastructure of Bengaluru. We have set up ICUs and Pediatric ICUs in 5 charitable hospitals, partnering with 4 corporate companies and NASSCOM Foundation in the past few months”.

N. Dinesh Hedge, General Secretary, Rashtrotthana Parishat added “we will be setting up our own 150-bed hospital called Jayadev Memorial Rashtrotthana Hospital in the coming 10 months in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar. This is our preparedness strategy to combat COVID19”. ,

Srikanth Raghavan, Senior Director of Unisys India added that “Unisys India had been engaged in CSR and giving back to the society since 2003. Unicare is the CSR Council of Unisys India and has been nurturing the acts of sharing, caring and giving since 2017. We are happy to support this initiative of Rashtrotthana Parishat”.

When the second wave of COVID-19 hit Bangalore in April and May 2021, there was an increased need for healthcare facilities to combat the pandemic. Rashtrothana Parishat set up five COVID isolation centres totaling 300 beds for mild to moderate symptoms in different parts of Bangalore where 800 patients were treated and 51 patients were referred outside for further treatment.
