Nagpur March 13, 2015: RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated RSS 3-day annual meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), highest body for policy formulation and decision making of Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Reshimbagh of Nagpur on Friday morning.
RSS ABPS meet paid tributes to prominent personalities who passed away in last 6 months. ABPS meet paid tributes to eminent cartoonist RK Lakshman, Journalist Vinod Mehta, Director Ravi Chopra, Mrunalini Devi of Royal Family, Scientist Vasant Rao Gowrikar, Eminet Judge Justice VR Krishna Iyer, former Union minister Murli Deora, Maharashtra’s polical leaders Abdul Rehman Antulay, RR Patil, Kerala’s CPM leader MV Raghavan, Kerala Congress leader and speaker Karthikeyan, Rajani Kothary of planning commission, Maharashtra’s RTI activist Govind Pansare, RSS Dakshin Madhya Kshetra Sanghachalak TV Deshmukh and few more eminent personalities.
ABPS also paid special tributes to those who died in natural calamities, as well as terrorist attacks. Meet also paid tributes to all defense and security personals who sacrificed their lives for the mother nation.
This year the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha to discuss on three crucial points.
- 1) Education through Mathrubhasha (Mother tongue language)
- 2) The Temple (Mandir), Water Reservoir (Jalashay) and Cemetery (Smashan) should be open for all in every village.
- 3)Wide expansion of Sangh work to all possible areas.
RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi chaired the 1-day proceedings of ABPS and will chair for next two days. Pranth wise (similar to State-wise) activities of the RSS will be reviewed. Important national issues will be discussed. Nearly 1400 delegates from different parts of India having different state level responsibilities of RSS, Sanghparivar are attending the meet.
VHP Chief Dr Pravin Togadia, Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s Pramukh Sanchalika V Shantha Kumari, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch’s Kashmiri Lal, ABVP’s Sunil Ambekar, BJP’s Amit Shah, Ram Lal, Ram Madhav are among the few participants from Sanghpariwar.
RSS ABPS meet likely to pass a resolution welcoming the UNO’s declaration on International Yoga Day.
RSS to celebrate Birth Centenary of its 3rd Sarasanghachalak Bala Saheb Deoras next year nationwide. Deoras’s contribution is well remembered for the eradication of social evils like untouchability. Bala Saheb Deoras’s popular quote is guidance for social workers ‘If untouchability is not a sin, nothing is a sin in this world. It should be thrown out lock, stock and barrel’.
Prominent leaders from Bharateeya Kisan Sangh (BKS), working for the farmers; Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA), a tribal welfare organization; Akhil Bharateeya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) one of the biggest student organization of the country; Bharateeya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) a leading workers union; Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a forum of Sadhus, Sants and Pontiffs; Bharateeya Janata Party, one of the two most important political parties of India; are attending the meeting.
Office bearers of Vidya Bharati, Vijnana Bharati, Kreeda Bharati, Sevabharati, Samskrita Bharati, Samskara Bharati, Laghu Udyoga Bharati as well as leaders from Rashtra Sevika Samithi, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Deendayal Samshodhana Samsthe, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Shaikshanika Mahasangha, Dharmajagarana will be participaing in the conclave.
Several organizations with special focus like – Sakshama, working for the blind; Seema Suraksha Parishat,which is committed to boost confidence among people of border districts, Poorva Sainika Parishat, working among retired soldiers are represented in the meeting.
Activities of all these orgainizations will be submitted in the meeting. Statewise activities of the RSS will be reviewed. Important national issues will be discussed and necessary resolutions will be passed in the meeting.
More than 1400 Social workers of different walks of life from nook and corners of the country will be participating in the meeting.

Nagpur is the place of genesis of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1925. Last year the ABPS meet was held at at Rashtrotthana Vidyakendra at Thanisandra in Bengaluru.
