Instead of trying to crush agitation fight corruption
“FOR the last two days, there have been attempts on the part of several Ministers as well as prominent leaders of ruling party to show the hand of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh behind the ongoing anti-corruption agitations in the country. It is nothing but a pre-planned conspiracy to divert the attention of public from the real issue.
The anguish generated among people due to growing corruption at high level, inaction on the part of government and sometimes even the attempts to protect the culprits is reflecting through these agitations. Social activists like Shri Anna Hazare and Sannyasis like Baba Ramdev have come forward to express that anguish through the agitations. Naturally, the people in large number have lined up behind them. Instead of respecting the sentiments of people, the attempts to suppress those sentiments, as happened at Ramlila Grounds in the midnight of June 4, reflect the adamancy and ignorance of the government.
We appeal to the government to leave this adamant attitude and initiate an honest dialogue with the leaders of the agitation to bring back the black money stashed away in abroad, effectively curb the growing corruption, reform the system, and also to amend the laws suitably. It is the most important need of the hour today.”
