Kollam April 10, 2016: RSS Swayamsevaks along with volunteers of Seva Bharati joined rescue works at the Puttingal Temple Tragedy premises, helped the local police and district administration.
112 people were killed and more than 400 injured in an explosion took place at the Puttingal Devi temple in Kollam, Kerala duringits annual festival at Paravoor at around 3 AM on April 10, 2016.

Statement of Poojaneeya Sarasanghachalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat and Ma Sarkaryvaha Bhayyaji Joshi on the highly shocking and painful tragedy in Kollam Puttingal Devi temple.
“The fireworks mishap at the Paravoor Puttingal Devi Temple near Kollam in Kerala, during the temple festival early morning today, that killed 105 persons and injured over 350,is highly shocking and painful. The agony of those who lost their kith and kin in the accident and that of who are injured and their family members is beyond comprehension.
We send our heart felt condolences s to all those have lost their kith and kin in the tragedy and also express sympathy for those who are injured in the accident and wishing them speedy recovery”
