Udupi: RSS Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat visited Puttige Matha in Udupi, receiving the blessings of Pujya Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji. He inaugurated the “Anubhava Mantapa,” an experiential theatre designed to deepen understanding of the Bhagavad Gita. The event was graced by RSS SahSarakaryavah Mukunda C. R.
Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji honoured Dr. Mohan Bhagwat for his contributions to Sanatana Dharma with the title “Hindu Samrat” and presented him with the prestigious “Shri Krishna Geetanugraha” award. The Swamiji blessed the RSS chief with Shri Krishna Prasadam, signifying divine grace and blessings.
During his visit, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat paid obeisance to the deity and proceeded to the Geeta Mandir. He visited the Geeta Shila Lekhana Dhyan Mandir and the Vadiraj Research Institute, where he was briefed on the institution’s initiatives and future programs. The deliberations also included discussions on the “Koti Geeta Lekhana Yajna,” a massive spiritual endeavour launched during his tenure. On the occasion of Geeta Jayanti, Pujya Swamiji conferred a Deeksha (spiritual initiation) upon him for the program.
Post the program, a significant part of the discussions revolved around the situation of Hindus in neighbouring countries. It was emphasized that Hindus should not tolerate disrespectful behaviour but rather start questioning in unison. Furthermore, the importance of monks, saints, and scholars leading society with knowledge, upholding heritage, and challenging the heinous actions occurring around us was highlighted.
With RSS approaching its centennial in 2025, Shri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji commended the organization’s role in fostering societal harmony and protecting Hindus. He lauded the visionary leadership of RSS heads from Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar to Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, attributing the organization’s enduring success to their dedication and nation-building efforts. He also stressed the contemporary need for a leader like Dr. Bhagwat to steer society in the right direction.
Dr. Mohan Bhagwat concluded his visit by taking blessings from the junior Swamiji, Shri Sushrinda Swamiji.
