12th Jan 2020, Bemgaluru: On the occasion of 157th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda celebrated as National youth day, a thought provoking symposium with an Indian Perspective on the theme of Inclusion of women in National Development – A way Forward was organised by Samaratha Bharatha and Women from different organisations participated. The event was held at Mythic Society.
The cheif guest of the day Ms.Tejaswini Anath Kumar also founder of Adamya Chetana charitable Trust spoke on various roles and responsibilities of women. She stressed on how the present generation women are blessed with three key important aspects opportunity, time and freedom in having her own earning resources and ability to use it as per to her requirements.
The key note address was by Dr.P.V..Krishna Bhat, Chancellor central University of Orissa, Koraput. He spoke on the importance of education and women empowerment and the contribution of Sister Nivedita and Swami Vivekananda.
Kumari Tanmayi presented on Swamy Vivekananda thoughts on women .
Sir Devanand, Managing Trustee of Samartha Bharata briefed about Samartha Bharatha activities and the essence of Swami Vivekanandas message. He urged youth and one and all to be part of ‘Be Good Do Good’, the annual fortnight campaign(Jan12th to Jan26th) and be part of building a Vibrant (Samartha) Bharata. He elucidated on the three themes for the 6th year BeGoodDoGood campaign 1. Save Water 2. Eat Healthy, and 3. Respect Everyone.
Dr. Indumathi Rao, CBR NetWork Zonal coordinator – Asia Zone, spoke extensively on the challenges in addressing the women’s issues and how to identify and address the women’s issues from an Indian perspective.
The day ended in a positive discussion of looking forward for more insights and actions in addressing women’s issues .
