Mysore September 18: Setting an example as a social worker, MK Shankar, the corporator of Mysore Municipality celebrated Gouri-Ganesh Festival with Civic Workers, in the presence of RSS top functionaries.

It was the 3rd continous year Shankar is celebrating the festival along with Municipality workers in his residence. The Baagina, an religious offering given to a relative during festivals, was given to all Municipality Workers. Dhoti, Shirt, Saree were ditributed to each one by Mr and Mrs Shankar.

Dr SL Bhairappa appreciated the effort of Shankar, and told “Shankar is setting an example for the other corporators to respect and honour all professions at any level. Workers should be respected keeeping the caste, creed, language and all others barriers aside.”

Shankar, an RSS Swayamsevak from Mysore has keen interest in social reforms. He is currently serving as Municipality corporator, elected from Bharatiya Janata Party.

ಮೈಸೂರು: ದಿನಾಂಕ18.902012: ನಗರದ ಕಾರ್ಪೋರೇಶನ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಎಂ ಕೆ. ಶಂಕರ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವರ್ಣ ಗೌರೀ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪೌರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ತಾಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಬಾಗಿನ ನೀಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಶಂಕರ ರವರು ತಾಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಗಿನ ಸೀರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ, ಶಂಕರ ರವರು ಪುರುಷರಿಗೆ ಬೈರಪ್ಪನವರಿಂದ ದೋತಿ ಶರಟುಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕ ಸಂಘದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪ್ರಾಂತ ಸಂಘಚಲಕ ಮ ವೆಂಕಟರಾಮ್, ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಕಾರ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಸಂಮಾನ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ಎಸ್ ಎಲ್. ಬೈರಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಸೇವಕ ಸಂಘದ ಮೈಸೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲ ಸಂಘಚಲಕ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರದ್ಯುಮ್ನ ಉಪಸ್ಟಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಮ ವೆಂಕಟರಾಮ್ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ ಶಂಕರರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಅನುಕರಣಿಯ. ಕೇವಲ ಮತಿನಿಂದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೃತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂಘದಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಶಂಕರರವರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸ್ತುತ್ಯಾರ್ಹ. ಎಲ್ಲರು ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಕರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಗೃಹ ಪ್ರವೇಶದ ಸಂಧರ್ಭದ ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಎಸ್ ಎಲ್. ಬೈರಪ್ಪನವರು ಗೌರೀ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತ ಆ ತಾಯಿಯ ಶಿವನನ್ನೇ ಗಂಡನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಶ್ರದ್ದೆ ನಾವು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದರು. ಅಧುನಿಕ ಬುದ್ದಿಜೀವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರಲ್ಲದೆ ಶಂಕರರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಮನೆಯು ಅನುಸರಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂದರು.
ಸಮಾಜದ ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ವಾರ್ಡಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಬಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನಸ ನಯನ ದೇವಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಗೈದರೆ, ವಾಮನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
