Earlier this month, a student in Tamilnadu has committed suicide, because of forceful conversion from missionaries.

This has been a focus of national media and ABVP activists took this case of student Lavanya, campaigned for “Justice for lavanya”. The issue has been politicised by the government of Tamilnadu. Now the ruling DMK has been trying to curb all the protesters including activists from ABVP.

ABVP has lodged a huge protest led by its National general Secretary kum.Nidhi Tripati and National secretary Shri Muthuramalingam.

The ABVP national general Secretary said that “In this case, we just want that the Government should co-operate with the CBI and the NCPCR. But now, the government is not doing that . We are here to seek justice for Lavanya case.”

The government ceased the protest and used police force to take the situation under control and took all the students protesting to remind home, the case has been took to the court of law till midnight.

Throughout the night, ABVP activist have been in presence of Judicial magistrate, arguments went beyond 12 midnight. Out of 36 activists, 3 being minor have been released and rest 33 remanded for 14 days including the National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi, National Secretary Mutthu Ramlingam and others by Saidapet Magistrate Court.

DMK led Tamilnadu Govt tried very hard to save its face at court. When his advocates failed to establish their arguments, they brought the Public Prosecutor of the State to the court at midnight.

Even when the advocate representing TN DMK Govt. failed to prove their points by legal arguments, DMK cadres gathered in front of Court late night to influence the legal process at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Court in Chennai.

The DMK govt is trying to suppress voice of democracy. All activists have been illegally detained and wrongfully charged because of the vendetta of the government.

ABVP is protesting at all state headquarters today demanding justice for Lavanya and release of mactivists.
