Seva Vibhag of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bangalore’s Banashankari Unit arranged a free eye testing camp on Sunday June 26th at semi rural area of Gottigere. The camp was attended by nearly 607 villagers who are poor and could not afford entry in to higher hospitals for their check up for their vision related ailments.
Apart from eye testing to diagnose the specific cause and health status of eyes, its mineral-nutrient requirements etc, the camp also had Cataract surgery facility. 44 villagers benifited from Cataract surgery. People beyond the age of 55-60 used to get regular cataract problem, but for these villagers it was a blessing in disguise when they made their visualise the dream of surgery for a free of cost.
For 274 patients with poor vision the spectacles were distributed freely. The camp was organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Banashankari Unit along with medical staff of Narayana Nethralaya Bangalore.
