Toronto, Canada: On September 1 in Toronto, Core volunteers and members of Hindu Sikh Unity Forum Canada had the opportunity to meet and interact with Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarasanghachalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), during the Canada leg of his three-country outreach marking the centenary of the RSS.
Hindu Sikh Unity Forum Canada presented Dr. Bhagwat with a token Community Honour Award in recognition of his efforts towards bringing communities together and promoting dialogue, harmony, unity and peace.
The interaction formed part of a wider international outreach during the RSS centenary year. The three-country journey through the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom has focused on civilisational and cultural dialogue, people-to-people relationships, social harmony and sharing the organisation’s century-long experience of character building and seva. In Canada, the larger “Hindu Vishwa Bandhu – Embrace the World in Friendship” gathering in Toronto brought together more than 2,000 participants representing 175 organisations from all 10 provinces.
For Hindu Sikh Unity Forum Canada, this interaction reaffirmed something fundamental to our mission: to sit together, talk openly and understand one another. Genuine dialogue dispels misconceptions. Mutual respect builds trust. Seva builds character. And relationships built through personal interaction can overcome distances that rhetoric often creates.
