Madesnana- a ritual at Subramanya Temple held recently
Bangalore Dec 7, 2011 : Veteran RSS Ideologue V Nagaraj, Kshetreeya Boudhik Pramukh of RSS for Karnataka and Andhra, today demanded ban on ‘Madesnana’ at Subramanya Temple, near Mangalore. In an open letter to the editor, published in Hosadigantha, today, V Nagaraj demanded the government to immediately ban the practice of ‘Madesnana’.
(Madesnana is a local practice of devotees, in which they physically roll over the left over food on banana leaves served to Brahmins. Devotees and Brahmins claim that this practice has a power to cure selective illness. A huge debate is already going about banning this practice)
The letter by V Nagaraj is given below:
ಮಡೆಸ್ನಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೊಸದಿಗಂತದ ಸೋಮವಾರದ (5/12/2011) ‘ನೇರನೋಟ’ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಲೇಖನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಭಿನಂದನೀಯ.
ಮಡೆಸ್ನಾನ ‘ಮಲಿನ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳ ಆತ್ಮವಂಚನೆ’ ಎಂದಿರುವುದು ನೂರಕ್ಕೆ ನೂರು ಸತ್ಯ.
ಈ ಮಲಿನ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳೇ ಮಡೆ ಸ್ನಾನ ಆಚರಿಸುವವರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಲೆಕುಡಿಯರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಮಢ್ಯವನ್ನು, ಭ್ರಮೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಎಂಬುದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ. ಮಾನವ ದೇಹ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೋಷ, ವಿಕಾರ, ವಿಕೃತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರತಾಗಿರದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರ ಎಂಜಲು ಎಲೆಗೆ, ರೋಗ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಮಢ್ಯದ ಪರಮಾವಧಿ.
ಮಡೆ ಸ್ನಾನದ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅಮಾನವೀಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾವಂತ ಸಮಾಜ ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರು, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಈ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ, ಅಸಹ್ಯ, ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕು.
ಸರಕಾರ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಬೇಕು.
