RSS to campaign against Chinese goods

NAGPUR:  The RSS has now decided to launch a nationwide public awareness campaign against the threat from China not only to the country’s security but also to the economy. The decision was taken by the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal which concluded its three-day convention at Gorakhpur on Sunday. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at his Vijayadashami address here had dealt in detail about the Chinese aggression and designs.

Briefing reporters here on the deliberations held at Gorakhpur in which around 400 RSS functionaries from 11 zones and 39 prants (divisions) participated, Paschim Prant Sahkaryavah (western region in-charge) Ravindra Joshi said : “In 1962, the Chinese threat was totally ignored. Now, India is repeating the same mistakes. Besides incursions into our border areas, China is supporting anti-India activities in Pakistan Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmarand Sri Lanka.”

While there is a direct military threat from China, the Indian government is turning a blind eye even as China is making deeper incursions into Arunachal Pradesh, he said. “Moreover, China is making deeper inroads into Indian economy. Around 35% power plants being set up in the country are using Chinese technology. Right now, over 1 lakh Chinese technocrats are working in India, many of them staying here illegally,” he claimed.

“The Chinese have hacked major, sensitive computer networks of Indian establishments to gain an edge. China is also harming our interests by building a dam on Brahmaputra river,” he said. Far from taking any action, India is allowing cheap exports of raw material like rubber to China which, in turn, is exporting cheap tyres, hitting India manufacturers,” Joshi explained. The RSS workers in Rajasthan have, on pilot basis, carried out a door-to-door campaign against Chinese goods. This will be replicated all over the country, said the RSS functionary.

Meanwhile, criticizing anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare for his comments of RSS chief Bhagwat and the silent support to his campaign by the Sangh, Sarkaryavah Bhaiyyaji Joshi said Anna’s views (referring to the RSS support as conspiracy) expressed in his letter to Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh have caused immense pain to the RSS. “It is tragic that a person of Anna’s stature too has got influenced by narrow political conspiracy. The views expressed in his letter would unfortunately prove detrimental to the anti-corruption movement that is genuinely supported by millions of Indians,” said Joshi.
