Nolongibari Village, Coochibihar district West Bengal August 03: Former Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramukh of RSS, Sitarama Kedilaya lead Bharat Parikrama Yatra has completed the visit in North-East Indian states, now is back to West Bengal, reached to different villages making the villagers aware on sustainable rural development.
Today the Yatra is at Nolongibari Village, Coochibihar district in West Bengal on its continuous 1090 th day of walkathon, covering over 15,000 km of journey by walk aiming Gram Vikas (Comprehensive Rural Development).
68 year old Sitarama Kedilaya has now completed approximately over 15000 kilometers by his mega walk. The Yatra began on August 09, 2012 from Kanyakumari. Bharat Parikrama Yatra across visited over 1200 villages of 17 states so far, creating awareness about conservation of water, ecology and rural Indian values in village life.
Yatra had entered Assam on April 01, 2015 and has travelled in different villages of Assam. Then the Yatra entered Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh for few days. (Bharat Parikrama Yatara had not visited Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland and Sikkim). Sitarama Kedilaya also visited a village of India-Bhutan border area during his Bharat Parikrama Yatra. In his return journey on July 25, 2015 Yatra reached Ramaray Kuti Village of Ghubadi in Assam. On July 26, 2015 Bharat Parikrama Yatra returned to Uttar Bengal area through Bakshihat area.
Later this year, the Yatra to cover Bihar, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra, Telangana and Tamilnadu to reach Kanyakumari to make its completion of one full cycle.
RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat had congratulated Sitarama Kedilaya on the completion of 1000 days on May 05, 2015 when the yatra was in Tejpur of Assam.
