Bangalore, July 10: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Karnataka has strongly rejected the report published in today’s Times of India, Bangalore Edition and claimed that the report is totally baseless and false.

Times of India, Bangalore carried a report (in Page 4, Dated July 10, 2012), entitled “RSS advised BJP leadership on election-cast formula” , which stated that RSS from its national headquarters Dr Hedgewar Bhavan of Nagpur, had given the caste formula to BJP to win elections, which made BJP national leadership firm up its decision to replace Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda.

RSS State General Secretary (Pranth Karyavah) Sri N Tippeswamy wrote a letter to the Editor of The Times of India Bangalore, today and said the report is completely false and baseless. “RSS had not interfered in any internal matters or decision making mechanism of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and never advised BJP to take any decision on leadership change or caste based formulae to win any election. We would like to clarify further that neither Hedgewar Bhavan (National Headquarters at Nagpur) nor Keshavakrupa (State Headquarters at Bangalore) hold any meetings on any internal matter of BJP”, Tippeswamy said.

The report on TOI says the source of the report as “an RSS leader” but his name and designation was unspecified. Tippeswamy asked the editor of TOI to publish his name in open along with his designation in RSS.

Reacting to Tippeswamy’s letter, Nahid Atualla, Political Editor of Times of India Bangalore agreed to publish the clarification by RSS, in its Wednesdays edition.

The Report appeared in times of India as follows:

Subject: Clarification to the report on RSS appeared in today’s Times of India, Bangalore.

Respected Sir,

We would like to bring  to your kind attention that the report appeared on RSS in today’s Times of India (Page-4), entitled “RSS advised BJP leadership on election-cast formula” is totally false and baseless.

RSS had not interfered in any organizational matters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and never advised BJP to take any decision on leadership change or caste based formulae to win any election.

We would like to clarify further that neither Hedgewar Bhavan (National Headquarters at Nagpur) nor Keshavakrupa (State Headquarters at Bangalore) hold any meetings on any internal matter of BJP. We further clarify that “RSS will not interfere in any internal matters or decision making mechanism of BJP”.

The report on TOI says the source of the report as “an RSS leader” but his name and designation was unspecified. We request to publish his name in open along with his designation in RSS, if at all you have it with you.

Thanking You,

N Tippeswamy,

Pranth Karyavaah (State General Secretary)

RSS, Karnataka.

  1. i have observed that it is the Media who create unhealthy relationship and plant such news on assumptions and presunptions .
The Rebuttal letter is a begining and should be taken forward to a logical end at least at Press council and it will be lesson in learning for all

  2. RSS should oppose Media when they organise attacks on HIndu Swamijis also…You should not be selective in giving rebuttal to some media.
Some Media, in the name of HInduism, RSS Backing indulged in anti HInduism works. It should be stopped.
Regarding that I fully agree with RSS contention and news might be false. THis is against RSS ideology

  3. Reputed media houses shouldn’t carry planted news like this and must follow journalistic ethics of confirming from the right source rather than issue such clarifications after the damage is already done.
