New Delhi, June 8, 2011: Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Wednesday alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was behind Baba Ramdev’s anti-corruption campaign.
“I think you should know who is behind Baba Ramdev. Go back to March 2011. At a meeting at Puthur in Karnataka, the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, which is the apex body of the RSS, decided to support all organisations and individuals that will raise the fight against corruption. on April two, the RSS had announced the formation of an anti-corruption front in which Baba Ramdev was the patron,” he said in an interview to Doordarshan.
On media coverage
Mr. Chidambaram said a section of the media was engaged in “competitive populist coverage” of the protests movement of Anna Hazare, Baba Ramdev and others and maintained that it undermined parliamentary democracy.
“I think sections of the media, for reasons which I can’t spell out, are engaged in competitive populist coverage of these movements. This undermines parliamentary democracy,” he said.
The Home Minister said he supported the civil society speaking against corruption by raising their voice.
“But I don’t support elected representatives yielding their obligations and responsibilities to civil society representatives. Let us remember that the foundation of this country is parliamentary democracy,” he said.

MR. CHIDAMBARAM,MUST CLARIFY THE NATION THAT “GOVT IS AGAINST CURRUPTION OR FOR”
CHIDAMBARAM KNOWS “ONLY RSS PEOPLE ARE NATIONALISTS, AND THEY ONLY OPPOSE CURRUPTION, WANT TO BRING BACK BLACK MONEY TO THE NATION. AND ALSO RSS SUPPORTING BABA’S ANSHAN.”
THIS MEANS BABA IS NOT AN RSS PERSON. ANNA HAZARE IS ALSO NOT AN RSS PERSON. BUT PEOPLE WHO DOESN’T BELONG TO RSS ALSO FIGHTING AGAINST CURRUPTION, AND WANT BRING BACK BLACK MONEY TO THE NATION.
WHAT IS WRONG IN IT?
If Every body who wears saffron are communal (Because It represents Hindus). What we should call the government which sits on Afzal Guru Hanging, because of the votes. The congress is pro Christian, Does it mean that only minorities have the rights and majority are abusers. Take the Case of Chattish Garh Ajit Jogi was made CM because he was christian in place of Motilal Vora, Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy was made C.M of AP instead of D.Srinivas Rao because mr.Reddy was Christian. In Kerala A.K. Anotny and Omen Chandhi got favors and later Became C.M. IS all these action secular. Congress allways try to Christianize the country. They utilize muslims for their vote bank politics. The Hypocrite Congress leaders join with muslim parties which have communal manifesto and always call others communal. Please don’t see the community and color a person comes from and wears but see the Charachter and cause he is standing for.
