AGRA November 01: A three-day ‘Yuva Sankalp Shivir’ organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began on Saturday morning at Astha City here in Agra.
RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat will participate and interact with the young audience participating in the conclave.
Nearly 5000 youth are participating in this conclave, most of them graduates and undergraduates. Experts like Anand Kumar, founder of the Patna-based Super 30 training school for IIT entrance, and Union minister Gen VK Singh will address the gathering.
For the shivir, a mega tent house has been arranged at Astha city, 14 km from Agra town, where the students will spend the time in a rural setting, without the luxuries and comfort of urban life.
“The concept of Yuva Sankalp Shivir, RSS has decided to directly be in touch with the young masses. The Sangh is focusing on students who have passed Class XII and are pursuing degree courses. The idea is to give young minds the right direction and motto in life,” said RSS Brij Prant Students’ (working) in-charge Padam Singh.
Talking about the selection of students for the shivir, Singh said the Sangh had approached around 30,000 students from various colleges and classes in 12 different cities, including Agra, Mathura, Bareilly, Aligarh, et al. The 5,000 odd students that finally made it to the camp were selected after a round of group discussions.
“We wanted to short list the leaders from among the students. Leaders in terms of those who have leadership qualities, so that they can spread the knowledge given by us to the masses. I expect that the 5000 students who will be living with us in the camp will create many others like them in their homes and in their friends circle,” added Padam Singh.
